Just a little about me ... Helena Falla!

Hello, I am Helena!

I was born in Bogotá, Colombia. I came to the United States as an exchange student under the Youth for Understanding Program.

My love for the U.S. drew me to become a naturalized U.S. citizen and I made Washington, D.C. my home.

My parents always encouraged me to be a good student and I fulfilled their dreams by earning scholarships during my education — obtaining degrees in Business Administration and Translation/Interpretation.

When I started my professional career, I worked for great companies such as a bank, a couple of law firms, an adoption agency, an international organization and two satellite communications companies. I made a comfortable living, traveled to different parts of the world and achieved many of my goals.

Then it happened … Remember the 2008 stock market crash when people lost their life savings? Well, I was one of them.

I had enough money saved to retire comfortably; however, I was forced to continue working to recuperate the 14-year savings I lost due to someone else’s mistake, oversight, and lack of responsibility.

After 16-years as a Corporate Manager, the company relocated, and my position was terminated.

Now what? I had no job, regardless of my education and my experience. I really didn’t want to start from scratch again, and that’s why I am here now — ready to help you.

I want to share with you all my many experiences, so  I am prepared to be your go-to person!
